Nicole Gamez , OTR/L
I graduated with a Masters of Science in occupational therapy from East Carolina University. I have been an occupational therapist for one year.
When I was growing up, the family of my closest friends adopted two children with severe hydrocephalus. Getting to interact with those children made me want to help them live their lives to the fullest, but at the time I did not know what occupational therapy was. Years later I was introduced to occupational therapy by working for a hand therapist, and after doing a rotation in outpatient pediatrics, I knew that I had found the career in which I could help families and their children live their lives to the fullest.
I lived in China with my family for 15 years before returning to the United States for college.
